Free Shorthold Tenancy Agreement Template
The most common rental agreement in the UK is a shorthold tenancy in the private rental sector. In order to help landlords, we have worked with our expert partners to provide a free template to be used in England.
The template has been designed for when a landlord and tenant are entering into a shorthold assured tenancy agreement in the private rented sector. It is particularly aligned to tenancies that have a term of 2 years and longer. The template can be downloaded from the link below and amendments made in Microsoft word.
As seen in the sample below all areas with needed input are clearly highlighted and are labeled with the required information. Two copies of the document should be made – 1 for yourself (landlord), the other for the tenant. The responsibilities lie with each party to keep the agreement in a safe place as it may be needed to be referred to during the tenancy.
